New IBM® BladeCenter® LS22 and LS42 blade servers feature:
- 2.7 GHz1 quad-core AMD Opteron 2384 processors, including 2 MB L2 cache 6 MB L3 cache and full 64-bit support (LS22).
- 2.5 GHz quad-core AMD Opteron 8380 processors, including 2 MB L2 cache 6 MB L3 cache and full 64-bit support (LS42).
- 2.7 GHz quad-core AMD Opteron 8384 processors, including 2 MB L2 cache 6 MB L3 cache and full 64-bit support (LS42).
- Two-way SMP processing (per socket) with a 1 GHz HyperTransport processor link.
- Up to 32 GB2 maximum system memory in an IBM BladeCenter LS22.
- Up to 64 GB maximum system memory in an IBM BladeCenter LS42 (with addition of Multi Processor Expansion Unit option). Note: Some offerings may have MPE standard, check configuration details.
- Broadcom 5709S dual-port Gigabit Ethernet connections with failover support on LS22.
- Support for small form factor (SFF) or earlier Ethernet or Fibre Channel I/O cards, and Myrinet or InfiniBand expansion cards.
- Integrated systems management processor.
- Integrated SAS controller and connectors for two 2.5-inch SFF non-hot-swap SAS HDDs or solid-state drives.
